CuteLittleURL is a free URL shortener with no accounts. We aim to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what we store and why.
What we store
- Links you create: the destination URL, the generated short slug, and timestamps (created, last accessed). This is required to make the redirect work.
- Basic server logs: IP address, user agent and request time, used for security, rate limiting and abuse prevention.
- Abuse reports: if you report a link, we store the slug and any reason you provide.
- In your browser only: your "recent links" are saved in your browser's local storage and are not sent to us beyond the moment you create them.
Cookies
We use only essential storage needed to run the site. If we introduce advertising (Google AdSense), ad partners may set cookies — we ask for your consent first, and you can decline.
Third parties
- Google Safe Browsing — destination URLs are checked for malware/phishing.
- Google AdSense — only if/when ads are enabled, subject to your consent.
- Hosting/CDN provider — processes requests to serve the site.
Data retention
Links persist while in use. To keep the cute namespace healthy, links that are never clicked or long dormant may be reclaimed. Logs are kept only as long as needed for security and abuse handling.
Your choices
- Clear your browser storage to remove your local "recent links".
- Decline ad cookies via the consent banner (if ads are enabled).
- Request removal of a link you created, or report abuse, at hello@cutelittleurl.com.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
